Course: Colour, Pattern, Surface

A six-week introduction to creating tactile textile designs, using hands-on and digital techniques. No experience required, just a love for pattern, shape and colour!
The course will introduce you to:
- Painting with transfer/disperse dyes
- Lo-Fi screen printing with laser-cut stencils
- Creating digital designs using Inkscape
- Digital embroidery
You’ll create samples using these techniques then work on a final design and apply it to a product, such as a bag, purse, t-shirt or textile artwork.
This six-week course will run on Thursdays, 6.15pm - 8.15pm, beginning on 27 February 2020. The course will take place at KWMC: The Factory, Unit 24 Filwood Green Business Park, Filwood Park Lane (off Hengrove Way), Bristol, BS4 1ET.

Materials and equipment are provided. The course will be run by Fiona Dowling (digital designer and fabricator based at KWMC: The Factory) and Ramona Bigwood (textile jewellery designer and artist).
Terms & Conditions
This course will be confirmed to run when a minimum number of bookings have been secured. In the event that your course doesn't go ahead, you will be notified within 48 hours of the course start date and will be given a full refund. We cannot refund any pre-booked travel costs you may have incurred in preparing to travel to this course.
With the exception of the situation detailed above, all sales are final. Refunds will not be given in the event of you cancelling your order or being unable to attend the course. We regret that we cannot transfer your booking to another course or date. Should you be unable to attend the course we are happy to change the name on your booking so a friend or family member can attend instead. (Refund policy updated 22 March 2019 and applicable to all purchases made on or after this date).
Partial refunds will not be given for sessions you miss or are not able to attend.

KWMC: The Factory is based at Filwood Green Business Park. The Business Park has parking spaces available for the use of disabled visitors. The areas of KWMC: The Factory that are open to the public are all wheelchair accessible. Toilets in KWMC: The Factory are accessible and gender neutral.
Our staff are not BSL trained, however we can book an interpreter via Bristol City Council. When booking your place on the course, please let us know that you will require this (see below).
